Your privacy matters to me. This page explains, in plain language, what personal information Pretty Simple Business collects, why I collect it, how I look after it, and the choices you have.
Who I am
This website, prettysimplebusiness.com, is run by Mia Sorensen, trading as Pretty Simple Business. When this policy says "I", "me", "we" or "us", it means Pretty Simple Business. I'm the person responsible for your personal information (the "data controller").
Pretty Simple Business is a brand of Digital Growth Studio, Vensløkkevej 2, 4960 Holeby, Denmark. CVR: 27856705.

What I collect
When you join my email list
When you sign up for a free resource such as The Simple Listbuilding Checklist, I collect:
- your first name and email address
- whether you ticked the marketing permission box, and when you signed up
- your IP address and the page you signed up on, which my email system records automatically
When you read my emails
My emails use standard tracking to show whether an email was opened and which links were clicked. This helps me understand what's useful to you and keep my list healthy. You can block this by turning off images in your email app.
When you buy from me
When you buy a product, such as The SIMPLE Listbuilding Kit, checkout is handled by ThriveCart, with payments processed by ThriveCart's payment providers (such as Stripe and PayPal). I receive your name, email address, billing country and order details. I never see or store your full card details.
When you contact me
If you email me or use my contact form, I collect your name, your email address, what your message is about and the message itself. I keep these so I can reply and help you. My contact form is provided by Tally, which stores what you type into it on my behalf.
When you use the Simple Listbuilding Planner
My online planner saves your answers in your own browser on your own device (using your browser's local storage), so you can come back to them later. Your answers are never sent to me or to my server, and I can't see them. Saving them is part of the service you're using, so no separate consent is needed. You can delete them at any time with the "Start over" button or by clearing your browser data.
If you copy your answers into an AI tool such as ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, that tool's own privacy policy applies to what you share there.
When you visit the website
Like most websites, my hosting provider keeps basic server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages visited) for security and to keep the site running. The website's fonts are stored on my own server, so visiting the site doesn't connect you to Google Fonts.
Why I use your information
| What I do | Legal basis (for UK/EU visitors) |
|---|---|
| Send you the free resource you asked for, plus news, tips, updates and offers by email | Your consent |
| Deliver products you buy, give you access, and handle refunds and support | To fulfil my contract with you |
| Reply to your messages and contact form requests | Legitimate interests |
| Keep records of purchases for tax and accounting | Legal obligation |
| Keep the website and email list secure, prevent spam and understand what's working | Legitimate interests |
I will never sell or rent your personal information.
Who I share it with
I only share your information with trusted services that help me run my business, and only what they need to do their job:
- Sendy, the email software I use to manage my list, hosted on my own server at Hostinger
- Amazon Simple Email Service (Amazon SES), which delivers the emails
- ThriveCart and its payment providers (such as Stripe and PayPal), for checkout and payments
- Hostinger, which hosts this website
- Tally, which provides my contact form
I may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect my rights or the safety of others.
International transfers
Some of these services are based in, or store data in, the United States or other countries outside the UK and EU. Where that happens, I rely on the protections those providers put in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
How long I keep it
- Email list: until you unsubscribe. I also clean my list about twice a year and remove people who haven't opened my emails in a long time.
- Purchases: for as long as tax and accounting laws require, usually 5 years, as Danish bookkeeping law requires.
- Emails you send me: for as long as needed to help you, and then up to 2 years.
When you unsubscribe, I may keep your email address on a suppression list so I don't email you again by mistake.
Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the link at the bottom of any email, or by emailing hello@prettysimplebusiness.com.
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information I hold about you
- ask me to correct or delete it
- ask me to limit how I use it, or object to how I use it
- ask for your information in a portable format
- withdraw your consent at any time
Just email me and I'll reply within one month. If you're in the UK or EU and unhappy with how I've handled your information, you can complain to your data protection authority. In the UK, that's the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). I'd really appreciate the chance to put things right first, though.
If you live in California or another US state with a privacy law, you have similar rights to know about, correct and delete your information. I don't sell or share your personal information for targeted advertising.
Keeping your information safe
I use secure, reputable services, encrypted (HTTPS) connections and strong passwords to protect your information. No system is completely secure, but I take reasonable steps to keep your details safe.
Children
This website and my emails are for business owners, and they aren't meant for anyone under 16. I don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. When I do, I'll change the date at the top of this page. If I make a big change, I'll let my email list know.
Questions?
If anything here isn't clear, or you'd like to use any of your rights, email me at hello@prettysimplebusiness.com. I'm always happy to help.
